Welcome to the cyber-manufacturing laboratory at Virginia State University!
Cybermanufacturing (CM) systems, based on cyber-physical systems (CPS), Internet of Things (IoT), and cloud technologies, are envisaged to revolutionize the status quo of manufacturing. Cybermanufacturing systems incorporate networks of physical input sensors/output actuators, linking computer numeric control (CNC) machines, robotics, and intelligence mechanisms of big data analytics to drive the “digital thread” of manufacturing.
The VSU cybermanufacturing laboratory is under the direction of Dr. Zhenhua (David) Wu. Vibrant research and education activities are carried out in the aspects of:
-
Control and Diagnosis on complex manufacturing systems
-
Digital thread and digital twin in manufacturing
-
Friction stir welding
-
Cyber enabled sustainable manufacturing.
